Capcom has stated all along that an improved Tournament Mode DLC would be coming to
Super Street Fighter IV shortly after launch, and now we know exactly what they are / were talking about. The new and improved Tournament Mode will be hitting both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of
SSF4 on June 15, 2010 for no additional cost. This new online mode is extremely robust and something that can, and will, be getting its own full hands on preview later today.
In addition to the Tournament Mode, Xbox 360 players will also be getting additional DLC in the form of Street Fighter themed Avatar costumes. There were 15 costumes shown at the event, including Guile, Rufus, Crimson Viper, and Ryu, among others. More costumes are in the works and will be available at a later date. While the Tournament Mode DLC is free, the costumes will likely be carrying a price tag, similar to other Avatar pricing schemes. Capcom will be releasing more information and news on the avatar costumes at a later time and date.
