Could the answer to every 360 user's storage dilemma be simply a dashboard update away? According to a report from
Joystiq, the blog has been made privy to documentation that shows that the function is going to be included in the next major update. If this turns out to be true, this is a much needed and long overdue feature for the console.
According to the article, the pending update will allow gamers to access game saves, downloaded content, installed and downloaded games from an attached USB device. There are security measures included that will ensure that the source data is genuine though, similar to the manner in which installed games work on the system now. This is a huge announcement and a major concession to MS' stance on their own proprietary storage units. Perhaps someone at MS has finally gotten the clue that they charge too much for their memory solutions for the 360... maybe...
