The
Final Fantasy XIII that I
posted about yesterday morning sounded a little lackluster; there wasn't anything special, at least at the time of my posting, about the bundle or the items included aside from the box that it came in. The package looked like it was going to be nothing but a 360 with a pack in game (remember when systems automatically came with those?)... but the official announcement at yesterday's X10 event proved that there was a little more to the system than originally met the eye. The system that is included in the
Final Fantasy XIII is going to be a
FFXIII branded system, notably on the hard drive. Instead of having the standard HD size engraved on the top of the hard drive itself, this special edition will have...
wait for it... wait for it...
"FINAL FANTASY XIII" etched into it. Aside from the etching in the hard drive, there will be nothing that differentiates this console from a standard issue 360. There will be a special edition faceplate available through select (unannounced) retailers, but it will not be included in the bundle. The bundle is still a good deal if you are looking to get a 360 and don't have one yet; it just would have been a little bit sweeter of a deal had the system had more branding for the game it is promoting. At least the Modern Warfare 2 bundle had a unique looking system... what gives?
