Ubisoft seems to have quietly set a firm release date for its upcoming
Red Steel 2 for the Nintendo Wii on their
official website. The action game, which will be enhanced by the Wii Motion Plus accessory (required), is the follow up to Ubisoft's Wii launch title Red Steel. The first game wasn't that well received but I always felt that it showed a ton of promise; the premise was there, but the execution needed a lot of work. I have seriously high hopes for
Red Steel 2. At the same time, Ubisoft has been reported as reducing their sales expectations for the game to 500K. The original game sold just shy of 1.2 million worldwide, racking up over 500K here in the North America alone. Hopefully the gamers who bought the first one don't have a bad enough taste remaining in their mouth to make them shy away from the sequel. You can keep an eye on the game at its
official website...
