It has been many, many years since I though of the words "total conversion mod"; for me it summons up great memories of the classic X-Men total conversion mod for Quake. Well, it turns out that these sorts of mods aren't a thing of the past thanks to
MechWarrior: Living Legends (
MWLL).
MWLL is a total conversion mod for the PC game Crysis. While the project has been underway for well over a year, I first came across this mod shortly before Christmas and have been keeping a keen eye on its progress in the beta form; it seems as though today a lot of the various gaming blogs are starting to give it some attention, which it really deserves.
MechWarrior: Living Legend is a combination FPS / mech simulation game that makes the original Crysis base completely unrecognizable. The game is a phenomenal achievement for this small development team and deserves all of the attention that it can garner. The mod is currently in beta form and can be obtained at the official website:
www.mechlivinglegends.net. When the project is completed, it will b e available free of charge to any and all who want to play it. It you are a MechWarrior fan, you will definitely want to keep and eye on this project.
