Sony loses patent case, could impact PS3 launch

It looks like lawsuit Immersion filed against Sony is going to get the ahead as a judge as denied Sony's effort to overrule a previous judgment against them.  The lawsuit focuses on Sony's use of Haptic conrols in the dualshock controller (this relates to the controller vibrating in conjunction with something happening on the screen).  The lawsuit could potentially delay the rollout of the PS3 as more than likely the technology has been designed into the controller.  If you're wondering why Microsoft isn't named in the suit it is because Microsoft settled with Immersion out of court.
