Even with the recent
change in pricing on the items available for the game, EA has announced that three million users are registered for
Battlefield Heroes. Registered users doesn't mean active users. The press release mentions over 50,000 new players join each week. It would be interesting to see how many stick around.
They also released a new map. See the screens below. The description from EA for this new map is as follows:
"The new map, named Sunset Showdown, features one central control point. Set on a sunset island, players can use a variety of vehicles to capture and control the hilltop church. Tanks will roam free on the sunny side of the island while the shady eastern side offers more protection for jeeps and infantry. All class types will be needed to both attack and defend on this teamwork focused map."
I took part in the beta and enjoyed the game through the launch. The game is simple enough and fun but I have trouble finding a reason to go back to it. Do you still play
Battlefield Heroes? If you've never tried it,
click on over to do download the necessary files and get playing.
