It looks as if Capcom is going back to the 8-bit well once again... and that is not a bad thing in my opinion. Capcom has announced via the latest issue of Nintendo Power that they will be releasing Mega Man 10 on WiiWare in the first quarter of 2010 (tentatively scheduled for March at this point). Mega Man 10 will be an all new, original adventure available exclusively through digital distribution.
There is not a lot of information available currently about the game, only a few tidbits that Capcom has leaked out. Here is what we know for sure so far:
-3 playable characters: Mega Man, Proto Man, and a third character that has yet to be announced
-all new bosses including Sheep Man and Commando Man
-additional DLC available over time
-in-game item shops accessible between levels
-multiple difficulty levels
Aside from these confirmed items, the rumor mills are swirling about the inclusion of such things as 2-player coop though all of that is merely speculation at this point. There is also no word on whether or not the game will see release on either the Xbox Live Arcade or the PlayStation Network.
Capcom was on hand at the Spike Video Game Awards this past weekend promoting the game's announcement with t-shirts and promotional E-tanks, hopefully kicking the Mega Man PR machine into high gear. We should be getting a lot more information about
Mega Man 10 over the next few weeks as the game approaches its March release...
You can see the actual reveal for the game on Nintendo's official website for
