One of the more interesting games at PAX that I didn't write about was
Divinity II. From the outside it looks like your standard RPG replete with dwarfs, elves, goblins, and the rest of the fantasy goodies but if you dig a bit deeper there are a lot of cool things like the ability to change into a dragon and rain fire down from above. There's also the ability to create your own creatures from parts of monsters that you slay during your quest which is kind of cool in for those who like to create their own monstrosities.
I've just started working my way through the preview build that CDV sent over during the holidays but the game is looking good so far. One of the abilities you have in the game is the ability to read minds which is very helpful when conversing with other people and trying to learn their true intent. The ability does cost you something as you have to give up experience points in exchange for what's on the other person's mind. Here's a short trailer from the game that shows off the ability in action.
Divinity II will be available the first week of January but I should have a detailed preview up before then.
