Symantec
is reporting that a second worm is in the wild that is targeting jailbroken iPhones. The worm is getting access to the devices by utilizing the default root password found on all iPhones after scanning and detecting a vulnerable device on open networks. Unlike the first ever worm for iPhones detected earlier this month, this one is
going after banking information according to ArsTechnica.
While many still use jailbroken iPhones for various reasons, it may be time to make some basic security changes (or at least
restore it to the factory settings) if you don't need the jailbroken features and to help prevent the device from being a virus petri dish in the future.
