We're looking at a
ban of 1 million Xbox 360s or so for modding the console to play pirated games right now by Microsoft but that can go higher. That's a pretty hefty number of folks who can't get online and play games anymore. The ban seems like nice timing by Microsoft because A)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 just came up and B) the holiday season is upon us and what better way to spike your 360 sales than to ban some folks and have them go out and buy another one.
If you are in search of a 360 and don't care that it's modded and won't work on Xbox Live, Craigslist might be a good place.
CNET's reporting that the service has seen a spike of 360s posted for sale since the ban hammer came down so the market's flooded with Xbox Live disabled consoles right now. Remember, buying one of these means you won't get any warranty support so if the console fails you're out of luck.
