One of the things Microsoft keeps trying to do is garner more success in Japan. With the introduction of Project Natal at E3, they hope that technology can help with that goal.
At the Tokyo Game Show, Microsoft had the creator of
Dead Rising and
Mega Man, the creator of
Super Monkey Ball, and the creator of
Metal Gear Solid on hand to talk about and praise Project Natal.
All three were impressed with the technology when shown before the announcement and view the peripheral as having great potential. Toshihiro Nagoshi of Sega really wanted to get his hands on the device after the demonstration. Hidea Kojima compared it to like the first time he played with an NES and how he wanted to share his surprise with everyone. Capcom's Keiji Inafune suggested that maybe Natal can produce a more immersive experience allowing for an impact like that of films we love.
It remains to be seen if this will help Microsoft in their goal of being successful in Japan but having those three people endorse one of your upcoming projects can't be that bad right?
