It seems people these days can't offer an opinion on a game and not be harassed when the view just doesn't coincide with theirs. One
website rated Uncharted 2: Among Thieves with an 8 out of 10. Which in my estimation makes it a good game. Yeah, you can see where this is headed.
Right now, we have our
own little controversy with
Halo 3: ODST since our reviewer found it to be an average game. Yes, C- is average on our site and it's always been like that. We've had accusations of doing this just to drive in hits (well, because of all our ads you see!) or that the reviewer is Sony fanboy and hates Halo (when in fact he loves Halo).
To me and being with this website for 12 years, we don't feel the need to "drive hits" by blatantly inflating or deflating a score based on a title. We aren't paid staffers and don't have any ads on the site. We do this because we love the industry and we love the people. We are just one opinion and not everyone's going to have the same opinion.
I have yet to play ODST myself and when I do I might find myself not agreeing with Shawn. But if I am in disagreement with him, I'm not going to disrespect his work and his view. I'll stand by each and every one of my reviewer's work and their opinions even if they don't conform with mine.
