About the only feature that was really removed from the slim version of the PlayStation 3 is the ability to boot into another operating system. It's a nice feature for the uber-techie but it's not something most people would fiddle around with. I've yet to dabble in it but I'm going to try a few things and have seen some interesting things you can do when you do boot into a Linux distribution. You can still do a swap of HDDs so I'm glad that's still in place. Other than that, you'll get pretty much the same system as the latest SKUs out there now minus the bulk. Oh but they did add a Bravia Sync feature which can sync with Sony Bravia TVs for some operations such as putting both items in stand by mode at the same time.
