Blogger Jim Sterling over at Destructoid has posted an abrasive, angry but pretty spot-on
rant about Nintendo's current attitude toward hardcore gamers, entitled "
Nintendo of America needs to STFU". Sterling delivers his points in a harsh, possibly NSFW way but they are valid points. Nintendo has been particularly mealy-mouthed lately, arrogantly quoting sales figures to the cult of Oprah while dropping table scraps to their long-suffering hardcore loyalists. Sterling wouldn't mind if Nintendo would just go whole-hog-or-none and dedicate themselves entirely to the casual audience, he just gets mad at them trying to have their cake and eat it too. If you don't mind some foul language and a few colorful metaphors, Sterling's opinion piece is a good read.
