Harmonix and MTV Games announced this weeks new Rock Band DLC for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and it contains some long-awaited classics from 60's and 70’s icons The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin and The Band. In addition, a three-song pack from the virtual group Gorillaz will be available. Other than The Who, the other three artists are making their debut on the Rock Band franchise. I personally have been waiting for ‘White Rabbit’, ‘Magic Bus’ and ‘Piece of My Heart’ for awhile. The cost is $1.99 (160 MS points) per track, or $5.49 (440 MS points) for the “Gorillaz Pack 01.”- Gorillaz “Clint Eastwood”

The Xbox 360 and Wii tracks will be available on August 11th, while the PS3 and PSP tracks will be available on August 13th.

Cambridge, Mass. – Aug. 7, 2009- Harmonix and MTV Games today announced a three pack of songs from Gorillaz, the virtual band created by Blur’s Damon Albarn, including songs from Demon Days and the band’s self-titled release; as well as four singles from legendary classic rock artists The Band, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane and The Who. All tracks, which mark the first time these artists other than The Who have appeared in Rock Band, will be available in the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content next week for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.
Additional tracks from KISS, Blink-182, Weezer, Lenny Kravitz and more will be available in the Wii™ Rock Band Music Store next week, and tracks from Iron Maiden will be available for Rock Band Unplugged.
