According to MCV Bayonetta (which won my WTF award at E3 this year) has been pushed back to January, 2010 in Western Markets. The game is being pushed back to avoid the holiday rush and to help launch Sega's new IP without a lot of competition. The game will still be released in Japan in October but will be pushed back to the end of January for western markets like the US and UK. Of course if you really want to play the game you can import it from any number of companies but you better hope the game isn't region locked.
