Apple announces new iPhone, the 3.0 OS release date and a price drop

Today, Apple made several important announcements at their World-Wide Developer Conference regarding the iPhone and iPod Touch. These two platforms have been making major strides in the last year as a viable gaming platform. The most important was the introduction of a new iPhone, called the
iPhone 3G S. It will have more features and functionality (including some that should have been available since day one), but more importantly will be up to 2x faster and have a longer battery life. Also, the base level 8GB iPhone 3G will see a price drop to $99. In addition, the long-anticipated
iPhone 3.0 OS will
become available on June 17th. It is free to iPhone owners, but will cost $9.99 to upgrade your iPod Touch. Check out the major updates to the iPhone 3G S below:
