Pop Quiz: How do you top releasing an entire album from the great Stevie Ray Vaughan? Apparently you don't even try. This week we get one of R.E.M.'s biggest hits, a pair from The Offspring and a song from Richard Thompson (one of Rolling Stone Magazine's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time). Sadly there are no discount deals this week, so all four of the songs will cost $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) individually. As usual, the songs will hit the Xbox 360 Marketplace first on Tuesday, followed by the the PSN release on Thursday. Here is the song breakdown:
Rock Band DLC - Week of March 10, 2009
- The Offspring - "All I Want"
- The Offspring - "The Kids Aren't Alright"
- R.E.M. - "Losing My Religion"
- Richard Thompson - "The Way That It Shows"
This is a great line-up of songs, but I do have one problem: That R.E.M. song employs a mandolin, NOT a guitar. I guess that's better than the guitar suddenly becoming a keyboard (I'm looking at you Nine Inch Nails songs). And just a reminder, in the next few weeks we have the big unveiling of the Pearl Jam album, Ten. First Texas Flood and now R.E.M. and Pearl Jam, it's going to be an expensive month for this Rock Band junkie.
