Hendrix and R.E.M. this week in Guitar Hero World Tour DLC

Available now is a Guitar Hero World Tour three-pack from one of the undisputed guitar gods of all time, Jimi Hendrix.  (Thank you, thank you:  I've been working on my balance of under- and overstatement.)  The blues-infused "If 6 was 9" has Jimi proclaiming, "I'm the one that's going to die when it's time for me to die.  So let me live my life."  The gorgeous R&B "Little Wing" is a deep inhalation of mellow and vocal distortion, while "Fire" -- a live version -- will erase any doubt in your mind as to why Jimi is indeed a guitar hero.

Also, three R.E.M. songs from their newest revitalizing album, Accelerate, are downloadable now for PS3 and Wii.  The tracks, sold as singles only, are the overdriven "Horse To Water," the give-me-some "Man-Sized Wreath," and the more stun-on-impact "Supernatural Superserious."  Tough calls.  This week sees a trio of tracks from an artist that died too soon, and then tracks from a trio that's brought themselves back from near-death.
